We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just welcomed 450 new people to our neighbourhood with the arrival of Capita in one of the biggest commercial property deals of the year in the North East.

Capita decided to move to our neighbourhood earlier this year and the hi-spec bespoke fit-out of the 42,000 sq ft of space to meet the company’s specific needs is now complete with our location representing their flagship regional HQ.

With a great many of the staff taking to social media to praise this new chapter for Capita, we’re delighted to see a positive response to the amenties and quality of environment now availble to any business that needs office or industrial space in Darlington.

Capita’s break out space matches the culture alive at Lingfield

Capita is one of the UK’s leading providers of business process outsourcing and integrated professional support services and will sit alongside businesses such as Four Seasons Health Care, AMEC Foster Wheeler’s regional base and Student Loans Company.

Dominic Moore, Asset Management Director of Clearbell, which runs the fund that owns Lingfield Point, said: “This project has allowed us to continue the transformation of Lingfield Point with the regeneration of this huge area from disused factory buildings to high spec, high-quality office space. This move adds weight to our ambitious plans to create a regional hub for business at Lingfield Point.”

Eddie Humphries, Estate Manager, said: “We are looking forward to meeting the new staff, helping them to settle in and make best use of all of the amenities here. One of the things that attracted Capita to Lingfield Point was the great facilities – both for the company and its staff.

“They felt they had found their perfect cultural match and as a service provider strongly identified with our own ethos of customer service delivered through our 24 hour concierge service.”
Capita employees will have access to the on-site facilities such as the Little Lingfields Nursery, the café bistro ‘canteen’, free bike hire, a book swap club and other amenities.

Tim Carter, director at Connect Property North East, added: Its blend of location, accessibility to the transport network and customer-focussed approach is unlike any other business park. This coupled with the site’s excellent broadband connectivity and infrastructure upgrade is proving an irresistible combination”.

Capita joins a great business community – with 60+ businesses based around our neighbourhood – and their arrival will takes our employee base of more than 3,000.
