We’re putting culture at the heart of our regeneration again – with our office space in Darlington being transformed into a festival site as as we take on the role of host for the ingenious Festival of Thrift bringing national attention again to our wonderful world.

The festival shows the site to its best, including its latest refurbished office space available – Beehive – and its award-winning offices at the Memphis building.  Now occupied by Student Loans Company, which won a British Council for Offices (BCO) award for the best upcycled work space in the UK, and then five years later the BCO ‘Test of Time’ Award which highlighted the building’s efficiency and sustainability.  And this year Lingfield Point was singled out as an example of best practice for customer service in a national report issued by the British Council of Offices.

100% satisfaction = smiles all round!

The golden effect of the festival is something that leasing agent David Jackson of David Jackson & Partners has noticed.

He said: “The Festival of Thrift continues the ethos of Lingfield Point through its reuse of buildings and making them fit a new purpose to move with the times.

“It opens up Lingfield Point to a different audience that cares about sustainability and community. I live about 30 miles away and friends have heard of the Festival and, through that, Lingfield Point. It’s those connections that make it a more personable and attractive place to work.  Having this level of awareness about our office space makes it very easy to talk about the location to potential occupiers with a positive knock-on effect to increasing the customer base.”

Sara Williams, Head of Marketing at Lingfield Point, said: “People spend a huge chunk of their lives at work and by offering an attractive work environment supported by a vibrant community we help our customers to retain their staff – and we retain our customers.  Feedback from those that have attended the festival has been overwhelmingly positive and vastly increased Lingfield Point’s visibility in the three years since the festival launched, driving new customers to the site attracted by its ethos and working experience.

“It’s something our customers love.  Nowhere else in the country is a business park so involved in such an exciting event and it brings us rewards in terms of attracting new, and retaining our current customers.”
